Following a rigorous vetting process, BCX was chosen to participate in the program's regional cohort as a clean-tech firm with significant growth potential in 2 sectors; Air Quality Consulting/Testing and Solar Energy Generation. Keith Boivin, company co-founder, is the BCX representative to the program. He attends classes twice per week (Thursday/Friday or Friday/Saturday), 10 hours per day. The program began in April and concludes at the end of August.
Keith says, “Right out of college I went to work as an engineer at Texas Instruments (TI). Innovators like TI are BIG on training. When I left TI to help start BCX, I missed that big picture, strategic training they provided. Now that we’re part of this Goldman Sachs program, I feel energized. It’s like a mini-MBA. We’re already beginning to see its positive effects at BCX.”
The 10k Small Businesses is designed and is co-delivered by Babson College (at no cost to participants), the national leader in entrepreneurship education. Participants' business growth is seen within 6 months from graduation and notably businesses are still growing 18 – 30 months after having completed the program.
